Food banks are a crucial lifeline for the poor. I think it is fabulous that the running club and Craig Barrett are dedicating themselves to help the needy and less fortunate! Keep on running for a good cause!

Lani, thank you very much for the highlight and the awareness. Local food banks are feeling the pinch, just like the rest of us, and at time when their need is most. In addition to the economic conditions, recent disasters have been life-altering for many families across the country, more recently the Texas gulf region.

Thanks Ginger, we will keep running for good causes, it’s in our blood to do so!

With the economy in it’s current shape, it’s no wonder that the food banks are in such poor shape. One comment made at a meeting I attended yesterday was that many of the people who were helping fill the food banks last year are in line to be helped by them this year. In Gwinnett County GA (North East Metro Atlanta) the food bank is empty and people are being turned away. Let’s all get with our friends, our communities, churches or whatever organizations you can think of to pull together to help those less fortunate during their time of need.
