What a great post Kelley! One can never have too many reminders that content is KING.

Good food for thought. What is your take on the notion that one should write about what interests one’s self and s/he will then attract folks who are similarly inclined?

I’m teaching on Social Networking in the AM at Womans Council of Realtors, then doing an interview with the A2News afterwards from Twittering.

I have been trying to get it manageable, not too much and you’re right not too technical.

Taught on it this past Tues at a KW office in Mi. It is my second time to teach there, first on blogging and now Social Media.

I told them I wasn’t coming back if they didn’t join 2 sites as only 2 had started blogging after my first time.

I left there thinking….you can take a horse to water but you can’t make them drink.

Content for the sake of content is way over rated.

I have been saying this for years and it has been said before. Content is king. When I do a class on how to start a blog I start with what the blog should be about, and how to set up the categories and two connect with readers. it is the readers who give us a clue of what we should write. I get a lot of traffic but sometimes when it goes down it is because I am off of my game and have forgotten what my readers want. Once I give it to them again my traffic goes up

    GREAT POST!

When I’m working with clients, I’m always stressing the importance of substance over style; if you’re listening, engaging and meeting the needs of your target audience, your readership will grow and you will generate business. It’s really as simple as that.
