Realtor Alert: Not All LG Refrigerators Meet Energy Star Standards, Despite Yellow Tag

Earlier this month, LG filed suit to fight the Department of Energy‘s stripping LG french door refrigerator models of their energy star standard certification but to no avail, as today, the DoE officially announced this fridge no longer meets their standards and may no longer don the yellow sticker.

As a Realtor, you probably get questions about everything from where the clay came from for the roof tiles (seriously, this has been asked), if the home has heated floors underneath the carpet, what year the new windows were installed, what brand of fan the secondary bedroom has, down to the energy star rating of appliances. The real estate practice is a constant pop quiz and therefore, you should know that not all LG models meet Energy Star standards, so you should cover your butt by knowing this tidbit of knowledge as you just might get that question!
