Marketing YOU During the Holidays

Marketing YOU During the Holidays
Google Buzz

harper teamThe Holiday Season provides us with many opportunities to have some fun with our marketing and prospecting. I realize that some may feel that this is the time of year to “give it a rest,” but there are unique opportunities that exist at this time of year that should not be ignored.

Like this post I wrote last year -

Your Neighbors are Begging You to Stop By – Will You Miss the Opportunity

starbucks-gift-card.jpgHere is an idea I am going to try on Christmas Eve. I am going to go to the Starbucks nearest my farm and buy a $100 gift card. Then I am going to give it to the cashier along with 40 business cards and tell the cashier that I am buying coffee for however many people it takes to blow through the $100. Only drinks – no pastries or coffee beans or gifts.

“Common sense is instinct. Enough of it is genius.” – George Bernard Shaw.

I’m not sure I have much of either, but what the heck, have some fun with the Holidays.

This is a great idea! I have often paid for the car behind me, but that seems like a much better idea!

  2. Carson

    Whoa that really is genius.

“Only drinks – no pastries or coffee beans or gifts.”

Clever clarification… You don’t want some dude buying up all the cranberry bliss bars he can carry and debunk your idea. Very original, by the way!

Great idea. It’s a random act of kindness with a business twist. Being that there is a Starbucks on every corner, are you choosing the one that fits your demographic profile best? The time people stop by may matter, too. Please report back with any results.

  7. Hawaiian Coffee

I love this idea. Of course, we would go to the local cafe and not the big superstore, but that might be more effective anyway.
