Which Way Does She Turn For You?

Which Way Does She Turn For You?

whichway

If you see this lady turning clockwise you are using your right brain. If you see her tuning the other way, you are using left brain.  Some people do see both ways, but most people see it only one way.  See if you can make her go one way and then the other by shifting the brain’s current. BOTH DIRECTIONS CAN BE SEEN.
Experimentation has shown that the two different sides or hemispheres of the brain are responsible for different manners of thinking. The following table illustrates the differences between left-brain and right-brain thinking:

Left Brain

Right Brain

Logical
Sequential
Rational
Analytical
Objective
Looks at
parts

                         Random
                    Intuitive
                        Holistic
                     Synthesizing
                      Subjective
                      Looks at
                            wholes

I didn’t write any of the above material and have no idea who did, as it is in so many different places on the net.  What prompted me to post it here now was an article I just saw in Advertising Age Daily News.  It is on this very subject and was written by Al Ries.  I think that pretty much anything written by Al Ries is worthwhile to read.  Here is the link.

OK, that’s freaking me out. I can see it rotating both directions.

  2. John Kalinowski

I think I’m going blind now. Thanks a lot Russell. I can only see clockwise, so now I’ll have to read the article to see if I’m left-brain challenged!

  3. fred

Wow that’s a crazy image! I also see it turning both ways. Had to stop looking it was making me sick.

  4. Judy M.

I’m dizzy. Does that fall under left or right brain functions? :-)

  5. Tony Sena

I was starting out it for several minutes and it was only going one direction. I called my daughter over and when I turned around to look again, it went the other direction but for only a few seconds before it stopped and went the other way again.

  6. Missy Caulk

I love this, had seen it before and it was fun. I start out a couple of circles to the left and then can’t get back there and it goes right. Which I know I am.

  7. Ruthmarie Hicks

I see it both ways. One minute I’m sure its going clockwise and the I see it go the other way.

  8. Dan Connolly

If you are only seeing her turning one way, try looking at her out of the corner of your eye with your peripheral vision. She will switch. (Unless you had a frontal lobotomy)

I posted this on another forum awhile ago. The title I used was “She goes both ways…really!”

  9. Brian Block

Whoa! I did indeed see the naked silhouette going both ways!

  10. Lisa Sanderson

She keeps changing direction. That’s not schizophrenia is it? Fickleness? Genius?

  11. Mike

I looked at this for a very long time and I only saw her going counter-clockwise.
Then, I covered up her top half (hmm) and then she went both ways.

  12. Jonathan Dalton

    If I squint I see a parrot … wait, this isn’t 3-D art?

Counter clockwise is all I’m seeing, all I have seen, all I probably will see.

  13. Jonathan Dalton

OK, covered everything but her foot and now she’s going clockwise and won’t switch.

Where the hell is Allan Funt hiding?

  14. Broker Bryant

I can’t see it turning at all. Whats does that mean?

  15. Dave Evans

Totally cool. Focused for a few minutes, and can now switch directions at will. It’s funny — my “head feels different” when I switch to left (default for me right). Now I want to practice everyday — it’s like a muscle: use it in new ways, and it grows more powerful. Thanks.

Now this is freaky – I consider myself a right-brained person most of the time and can’t get the frigging girl to turn clockwise!! I tried everything…..i think I need therapy now.

  17. Cheryl Johnson

A friend shared this with me a little while back. The most interesting thing: At one point I ran it on a dual monitor system. The dancer turned clockwise on one monitor and counterclockwise on the other. Proving, of course, what a well balanced person I am. :-)

To Ines: Kinda squint your eyes, and glance away, then watch the montor from the corner of your eye.

  18. P Byers

Clockwise is much more natural to me – I see it right off the bat every time, but if I stare at her planted foot, I can make the effort to see the opposite spin. Cool Exercise!

  19. Mariana Wagner

After 5 minutes of watching her go back and forth, I have come to the conclusion that I am:

Logically Random, Sequentially Intuitive, Rationally Holistic, Analytically Synthesizing, Objectively Subjective and I Look at whole parts.

She flip flopped directions so often I almost lost my mind.

  20. Ines Hegedus-Garcia

OMG – I had to come back and try this again – TG I am not brain dead!! I was able to make her change directions using my right eye only

    hmmm – I must be a right-winged Analytic.

  21. Kate

Wow. First clockwise, then I looked back and it was counterclockwise. Now after watching it for a while, I can switch her at will, sometimes every second. I think I’m going to be really dizzy soon.

But does that make me really balanced or very *ahem* unbalanced?

  22. Ibian

This is just a black 3D model, and it is spinning in exactly one direction. Damn you people are dense.
