Nestio- picture tour of new bookmarking site for listings

Early days of Nestio

NEW YORK – Nestio just participated in a Demo Day in New York City in an effort to pitch their product to investors and boy are the bones of their project stunning! Nestio’s tag line is “making it easier to find a place to live” and offers a way to organize listings and compare them side by side.

Nestio is currently available in New York City and compares Craigslist and Streeteasy listings, but we can see the amazing potential for all cities and all real estate search sites- can you imagine a consumer adding all of their favorite listings across the web into one site that shows their details side by side? It’s genius- Nestio doesn’t eliminate the need for real estate search, rather acts as a single bookmarking place for all listings. We love how streamlined it could make the entire home shopping experience.

Users can copy and paste a URL into Nestio or add the Nestio bookmarklet to send all listings to their Nestio list and compare them side by side then through Facebook Connect, they can invite their Facebook friends into their search list- this could be cool for the nagging parents or the possible roommates (or ahem, the Realtor).

Nestio reminds us of a fledgling Dwellicious that has great bones. We anticipate Nestio will get funding and become a bigger player in the space, especially when they expand beyond NYC, add houses and offer their mobile options (coming soon).

Bonus:

Their 404 page language is clever and hip, much like their site- we love it!

What we want more of

We know that it is not a launched company, but when the day comes that Nestio is fully launched, we would love to see the capacity for more points of comparison as buyers care about more than just price and size- an amenity comparison and lifestyle option comparison will be necessary for the tool to be useful to home shoppers. We hope to see more mapping overlays so consumers can see nearby grocers, doctors, yoga shops, restaurants, parks, and some walkability scores.

We are very excited about the possibilities Nestio offers and know that it could help consumers trim down the confusion of buying a home or shopping for an apartment which ultimately helps the real estate professional to focus on the negotiation and contract process and less on the confusion of the online shopping process. Kudos, Nestio, we can’t wait to see you grow!

Will no doubt help home seekers take data from the numerous sites and transform it into useful and actionable information.
