Yep that time of year again. Used lap top bags, and accordian receipt holders sound good.

Hi John! Thank you and so nice to see you stop by AG! Perhaps we will have the chance to see each other at LA Organizing Awards :)

Hi Missy, I have to admit, I am one to stuff all my receipts in a file and then I am forced to organize them all at once-quite a chore. Organizing them before they get filed is just so luxurious…

Nickie: Organizing is an ongoing battle for most of us. Regarding receipts, I enter every receipt into QuickBooks once per week. Everything gets categorized as I enter it. I clip the receipts together by week and slap a post it note on the front of the stack. That way, if I need to refer to a receipt it is easy to find. I’ve been thinking of trying Neat Receipts. Its a little scanner that also enters the receipt into a data base. Then you can throw all receipts away and not worry about organizing or storing them. Thanks to the links to good organizing resources.

I agree with Michelle, organizing is an up hill battle for most of us. I use Bill.com to digitize my receipts, it keeps me paperless and automatically updates QuickBooks with the expense data. You can fax, scan, or e-mail documents into the system. One of the most useful features is giving your vendors a custom fax or e-mail address which then automatically creates the paperless bill for you ready for QuickBooks integration.
