Are the rumors true?
According to Venture Beat, it is rumored that on January 26th, Apple will unveil the Apple iSlate tablet-form eBook reader with a 10 inch touchscreen display. In 2007, Apple purchased the domain iSlate.com which is why it is rumored to be the name of the potential new Kindle competitor.
An Apple eBook reader has been rumored before but the market has changed and conditions are much more favorable today for adoption than years prior, so I think this time there is merit to the rumors. Regardless of how they market the iSlate, I’m betting it will be a really big iPod or a hand held iMac with more capabilities than just reading eBooks.
Could this be the true Kindle Killer? Apple doesn’t invent products, they make existing products sexy and desireable and therefore popular and since the globe has chugged the iPhone kool aid, does it stand to reason they’ll do the same with the iSlate?

These rumors are the reason that I have not purchased a Kindle. I would love to have a mini touch computer that is bigger than my iPhone. Lets hope that something amazing surfaces.
